 Laputa – Castle in the Sky was the first animated film that ushered in the era of Studio Ghibli domination Laputa ranked 2nd in the top 100 best Japanese animated films voted in 2007.

The castle suspended in the clouds still has the same vitality and charm as the first day of its debut. The name "Laputa" was inspired by a flying island by director (artist) Hayao Miyazaki in Jonathan Swift 's novel Gulliver's Travels published in 1726. 

The film recreates a fantasy earth, the setting is taken from the 1900s. The main character is a girl with a mysterious green stone who is escorted to a secret location by a hot air balloon.

A band of robbers led by old woman Dola suddenly ambushed her and she was able to escape thanks to the blue stone she brought with her. 

The beautiful scene is built from the image of a girl shining like an angel falling from the sky. This magical and fanciful image has brought a huge plus point to the film.

A special highlight for Ghibli is great imagination, creating a dreamy world for the audience. Reality intertwines with imagination creating a masterpiece for the studio. 

Pazu is a lively and kind miner boy, one day he happened to see the light and came to him, he met Sheeta to take her and take her home, the two children gradually became close. A picture taken by Pazu's father 

Sheeta sees and gradually reveals the story of the legendary castle Laput a. Once again the Dola bandits came and this time the two children were saved by the blue stone.

At the mines they meet an old miner who reveals that the stone is the source of Laputa's destructive power. It was passed down among members of the royal family and Sheeta once ruled the kingdom of Laputa. Now Sheeta understood why she was being hunted.
